Sample details

10/66 Peru recruited participants from both urban and rural locales. Rural participants were recruited from Cañete Province in the southern Lima region of Peru, and urban participants were recruited from Lima, the capital city of Peru. Participants were at least 65 years old and able to give informed consent. This resulted in a baseline cohort of over 1,900 participants of varying socioeconomic, educational, marital, and occupational backgrounds. Approximately 75% of participants came from the urban recruitment location.
