The 10/66 Venezuela study is a sub-study of the 10/66 Dementia Research Group's population-based research program. The aim of this program is to create a publicly accessible data archive from the 10/66 population-based surveys. These surveys include over 17,000 older people from six countries in Latin America and the Caribbean, India, China, and Nigeria. The 10/66 Venezuela cohort comprises all older residents aged 65 years and over, living in Caracas, Venezuela. At baseline, 42.8% of the sample were between the ages of 65 and 69 years, and 15.7% were 80 years and above. Participants of the baseline assessment were traced and followed up between 2007 and 2010, and a third follow-up was conducted in 2015 and 2016.
