This study aimed to investigate how levels of antibodies in the blood can determine and predict cardiovascular events. Participants living in Stockholm County, Sweden and turning 60 between July 1997 and June 1998 were recruited from the Swedish population register. Over 4,000 participants took part in the baseline data collection sweep. Participants were followed up using linked data through the National Cause of Death Register and the Hospital Discharge Register.
