Sample details

The primary goal of ABVIB was to assess the contributions of cardiovascular risk factors (laboratory studies) and cerebrovascular disease (carotid intima media thickness and retinal vessels) to brain structure and function, alone or in combination with Alzheimer’s disease. Measures of brain structure and function included serial MRI and neuropsychological testing. Participants were aged 55 years and above (average age was 75.1 years), living in the state of California in the United States of America, and 82.5% were male at baseline.
