ADNIDOD investigated the effects of traumatic brain injury (TBI) and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) on Alzheimer's disease in veterans of the Vietnam War. Participants were Vietnam War veterans between 60 and 80 years old who had received a diagnosis of TBI or PTSD without mild cognitive impairment (MCI) or dementia. A group of participants without TBI or PTSD was also recruited as age-matched controls. At baseline over 450 participants were included in the study. Participants were followed up at 6 and 12 months.
