Sample details

This study aimed to estimate the burden of psychopathology and dysfunction associated with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) into adulthood and to investigate whether the morbidity of ADHD is due to its associated psychiatric disorders. Participants were derived from a longitudinal case-control family study of referred youth with and without ADHD. At baseline, the study enrolled male Caucasian subjects aged 6 to 17 years with (140) and without (120) ADHD from pediatric and psychiatric clinics. These participants were followed up 1 year, 4 years, 11 years, and 16 years after the baseline assessment. Data were collected from 1988 to 2006.
