Amirkola Health and Ageing Project (AHAP)

The AHAP aims to investigate geriatric medical problems, such as falling, bone fragility and fractures, cognitive impairment and dementia, poor mobility and functional dependence in older people living in Amirkola, Iran. Between 2011 and 2012, the study recruited and assessed more than 1,600 participants aged 60 years and older. Participants are followed up via phone calls every six months and reassessed every two years.
