Autism Phenome Project (APP)

Sample details

The aim of the APP is to identify and describe different subtypes of autism. Participants include almost 400 children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and around 170 typically-developing children. Participants were recruited through the MIND Institute at the University of California, Davis, in the United States of America. Baseline assessment began in 2006 and there have been five waves of data collection: when the participants were 2 to 3.5, 3 to 5, 4 to 6, 9 to 12 and 15 to 19 years old. The APP includes the Girls with Autism—Imaging of Neurodevelopment (GAIN) cohort of 100 girls with ASD, which was initiated in 2014 to increase female participation in the APP.
