The AWHS aims to advance the understanding of menstrual cycles and their relationship to various health conditions, including infertility, menopause, and health across the lifespan. Recruitment began in 2019 and is ongoing, with over 120,000 participants recruited as of 2024. Participants include adults who have menstruated at least once and live in the United States of America. Participants are followed through occasional surveys and cycle tracking data from their smartphones and/or smartwatches. The study is planned to be conducted over decades.
