Ardabil Cohort Study

The Ardabil Cohort Study aims to determine the incidence and risk factors of major non-communicable diseases and gastrointestinal cancers in adults aged 35 to 70 years in Ardabil County, Iran, as well as to establish a biobank for collected samples. Over 20,000 participants living in the city of Ardabil from May 2017 to February 2020 were enrolled in the study. Participants are actively followed up every 4 months. The cohort is 1 of 18 geographically distinct study areas of the PERSIAN cohort study.
