The BAHSTION study investigated acute hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection in the United States of America. Participants were patients from two hospitals in Boston and inmates from Massachusetts correctional facilities diagnosed with HCV. Over 230 participants completed baseline assessment from 1998 and were followed longitudinally for the duration of the infection.
