The Ballabgarh HDSS, also known as CRHSP, is located in northern India and was established in 1961 to develop a model for rural health-care practice in India. In 2011, the Ballabgarh HDSS included around 90,000 individuals from 28 villages. The system collects data for the entire population through fortnightly visits by health workers. The system’s database is updated monthly and further enhanced with missing data and special morbidity surveillance data during the annual census. Sub-studies have also been conducted.
