The BANDA study aims to probe adolescent depression and anxiety by collecting MRI and clinical/behavioural data from adolescents with depression or anxiety disorders and comparing them with healthy controls. The goal was to determine reliable biomarkers for these disorders, which can be used to predict clinical outcomes more accurately. Participants were 225 adolescents aged 14 to 17 from Massachusetts in the United States of America. The sample included 180 adolescents with depression and/or anxiety disorders and 45 healthy controls. Baseline data collection began in October 2016 and lasted until November 2021. After two days of initial data collection, participants were followed up 6 months and 12 months later.
