Bipolar And Schizophrenia Young offspring Study (BASYS)

The BASYS study aims to investigate the association between familial risk and the development of psychiatric disorders in at-risk offspring's. Participants are between the ages of 6 to 17 years, recruited from 2008 to 2012 across Spain. Specifically, participants include 238 individuals, with 90 offspring of parents with bipolar disorder, 41 of parents with schizophrenia, and 107 control offspring. The participants were followed-up two years after recruitment, with 202 individuals taking part.
