BBC87 tracked a cohort of children born in 1987 in rural Ethiopia from birth to 18 years of age. The study recruited all babies born in 1987 in the Butajira Rural Health Program (BRHP) site in central Ethiopia. At baseline, over 1,800 babies were included in the cohort. Participants were followed up from birth until they turned 18 years old in 2005.
