Sample details

The BBR resource objective is to establish a database of patients, as well as the donation of tissue samples for the purpose of developing a bio-repository of donated samples which will be used for clinical health and disease-related research opportunities. The Barts BioResource relies on the donation of human blood, saliva, swabs, urine, faeces, and soft/solid tissue (e.g., blood vessels and heart tissue). Patients who are referred to and/or managed in the Barts Health National Health Service (NHS) Trust in England, United Kingdom, are eligible for participation. As of January 2022, the BBR has recruited more than 23,400 cardiovascular patients.
