Bispo is a longitudinal study that began in 2022, aiming to characterise the bio-psycho-social functioning and developmental trajectories of offspring with or without a family history of Major Psychiatric Disorders (MPDs). The study aims to recruit 150 offspring of patients with MPDs from the CIUSSS (Health and Social Services Centre) in the Capitale-Nationale region of Quebec, Canada. It also aims to include a control sample of around 150 offspring whose biological parents who have no lifetime history of psychiatric diagnoses. After enrolment, both the at-risk and control groups are followed up at three and six years. One parent of each at-risk (100 parents) or control offspring (100 parents) will be enrolled for a one-time assessment. Finally, the study will enrol for a one-time assessment 50 adults with MPDs without children and 50 adults without MPDs (controls) without children.
