The BiSC follows a cohort of over 1,000 mothers during and following their pregnancy, recruited at three tertiary university hospital in Barcelona, Spain. Mothers were recruited during their first routine hospital visit (weeks 11-14 of gestation), with subsequent prenatal follow-ups at 20 and 32 weeks gestation. Postnatally, data has been collected at 1, 2, 6, 8, 12, 18, 24, 28, and 48 month follow-ups. Data has primarily been collected on the mothers and babies, although mothers' partners have also been recruited into the cohort.
