BISCS is a multi-centre prospective pre-birth cohort of over 1,200 healthy, single pregnancy women and their children in the urban area of Shenyang in Northeast China. Mothers were recruited between April and September 2017 at 21 - 24 weeks gestation across 54 hospitals and community healthcare centres in the area, with visits first occurring in the second trimester, whilst the children were first visited at home within 7 days of birth.
