BiTwin is a birth cohort study in Portugal involving 974 children (246 twin births and 479 single births) recruited from various hospitals in Portugal, including the Maternal and Child Health Centre of the North (CMIN), S. João Hospital, Vila Nova de Gaia/Espinho Hospital, and Pedro Hispano Hospital. Participants were recruited between 2017 and 2019 consisting of newborns, both twins and single births. Participants are followed up at recruitment and subsequently at 4, 8, and 12 months of age to assess various health outcomes through structured questionnaires, forms, and biological sample collection.
