The BKNCD Cohort Study is part of the larger PERSIAN (Prospective Epidemiological Research Studies in IrAN) Cohort. The study aimed to determine the incidence and prevalence of non-communicable diseases such as cardiovascular disorders, chronic renal and liver disorders, diabetes and cancers in the adult population of Iran. Between 2016 and 2018, the study recruited over 4,000 adults aged between 35 and 70 years who resided in the city of Kong, in Hormozgan province, Iran. Participants were followed up annually until 2018.
