BHPS aimed to analyse the socio-economic situation of Burundi during and after the Burundian Civil War (1993 - 2005). In 1998, BHPS recruited over 6,000 households from rural and urban locales in Burundi. Panel households participated in data collection in 1998. Only rural panel households participated in data collection in 2007 and 2012.
