BPS tracks students' paths through postsecondary education institutions located in the 50 states of the United States of America, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico and helps answer questions of policy interest. The cohorts for each BPS study are drawn from the National Postsecondary Student Aid Study (NPSAS). Students are surveyed beginning in their first year of postsecondary education and followed up at the end of their third and sixth years after entry into postsecondary education. BPS:20/25 follows a cohort of students that began postsecondary education in the 2019-2020 academic year ,and they have been invited to complete surveys in 2022 and 2025.
