The study aimed to describe the prevalence of child- and parent-reported acute stress disorder (ASD), post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and other emotional disorders, as well as the degree of agreement between children and parents, in a sample of trauma-exposed children and adolescents. The cohort included 93 children and adolescents aged 10 to 16 years who attended an emergency department in South London (United Kingdom) following an assault or motor vehicle accident (MVA). Between 2001 and 2003, participants completed an initial assessment at two to four weeks post-trauma, and a follow-up assessment at six months post-trauma.
