"Cancer in Adolescents and Young Adults" is a multicenter, longitudinal study conducted among 215 adolescents and young adult patients with cancer aged 14 to 39 years. Patients completed a self-report measure of social functioning within the first 4 months of diagnosis and again at 12 months and 24 months later. Participating institutions included 3 paediatric care institutions (Doernbecher Children's Hospital [Portland, Oregon], The Children's Hospital of San Antonio [San Antonio, Texas], and Children's Hospital Los Angeles [Los Angeles, California]) and 2 university-affiliated adult care medical institutions (Oregon Health and Science University Hospital [Portland, Oregon] and Cancer Therapy and Research Center at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio [San Antonio, Texas]).
