Cognition and Affect after Stroke: Prospective Evaluation of Risks (CASPER)
BACK
Sample details

CASPER is a prospective clinical cohort follow-up study in 250 first-ever and recurrent ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke patients. Patients were recruited at the neurological in- and outpatient services at Maastricht University Medical Center (MUMC+, Maastricht, The Netherlands), and Zuyderland Medical Center (Sittard and Heerlen, The Netherlands). The stroke can be a first-ever event or a recurrent supra- or infratentorial stroke in a patient who recovered from a previous event without obvious residual symptoms. The study has serial assessments at baseline (10 to 12 weeks after stroke), followed up 6, 12, and 36 months after baseline.
