CCAAPS is a birth cohort study examining the associations between traffic-related air pollutants and health outcomes, including allergic diseases, asthma, and neurodevelopment. The cohort includes children born to at least one biological parent with atopy and a birth address of less than 400 meters or greater than 1500 meters from a major roadway in Greater Cincinnati, United States of America. A total of 762 children were enrolled from 2001 to 2003 at approximately age 6 months, and assessed at ages 1, 2, 3, 4, 7, and 12. Additional follow-up at age 18 is planned as part of the Cincinnati Combined Childhood Cohort (C4).
