The CCREOH Cohort Study began in 2016, aiming to investigate the impact of chemical and non-chemical environmental exposures on maternal and child health in Suriname. The study recruited 1,143 pregnant mothers and 992 infants from three regions of Suriname, including of Paramaribo, Nickerie, and the tropical rainforest interior region. Follow-ups have repeatedly been conducted for both mothers and children, with data collected at delivery, 12 and 36 months postpartum, with a planned follow up at 48 months postpartum.
