Sample details

CFAS II builds upon the design and infrastructure of the MRC CFAS. Between 2008 and 2011, new cohorts of people in their 65th year and above were recruited from Family Health Service Authority lists across 3 centres within England: Cambridgeshire, Newcastle, and Nottingham. The sample was stratified by age group (65-74 years and 75 years and over) and equal numbers were randomly selected from each age group.
