CFAS-Wales is a longitudinal study investigating health and cognitive function in older people living in Wales, United Kingdom. Individuals aged 65 years and above were selected at random from general practice registers in rural (Gwynedd and Ynys Môn) and urban (Neath Port Talbot) areas of Wales. Participants were stratified into two age groups, with equal numbers of those aged 65 to 75 and those over 75. Between 2011 and 2013, around 3,500 participants were recruited and completed the baseline study. Participants were followed up two years later between 2013 and 2015.
