The Changsha Birth Cohort study is a population-based survey that aimed to explore the development of children from birth up until 5 years old in Changsha, China. The study was conducted in three communities in Kaifu District of Changsha from January 2015. A total of 1,286 infants were born during 2015, and 976 of these infants and their mothers were included in the baseline sweep. Data collection was first conducted through face-to-face interviewing with a respondent rate of 75.9%, and these participants were followed at the age of 3, 6, 8, 12, 18, 24, 36, 42, 48, 54, and 60 months.
