Sample details

The CHCCS is a prospective cohort study of over 1,000 centenarians in the province of Hainan in China. The baseline survey took place from 2014 to 2017, and the participants were all in a physical state to consent to the questionnaire interview, physical health examination and blood tests. The participants were given the choice of completing the baseline assessments either at home or in the community health service centres for convenience. Since baseline, they have been followed up annually through telephone interviews and electronic health records checks.
