Sample details

The Children of 1997 Birth Cohort study is a large population-representative birth cohort in Hong Kong, based on all births in April and May 1997. The study was originally set up to provide high quality evidence concerning the impact of second-hand smoking on infant health, and actively followed up participants until 18 months of age. In 2005, the study recontacted participants to establish the birth cohort and continue follow up.
