The CHEF research projects focus on the health of children and adults in the Faroe Islands, Denmark, with an emphasis on the impact of seafood diets and marine contaminants. Cohort 3 was established between 1 April, 1998 and 29 February, 2000 and included 547 children from consecutive births at the National Hospital in Tórshavn, Faroe Islands. A subgroup of cohort children were examined with regard to immunological parameters at ages 11 and 18 months.
