CHILL aims to examine whether the introduction of the Ultra Low Emission Zone (ULEZ) is effective at reducing air pollution, and therefore improving children's lung growth and respiratory health. CHILL has involved almost 3,500 children from over 80 primary schools across London and Luton (United Kingdom). Participants were assessed at baseline in 2018 to 2019, and have been followed up yearly, pausing for one year due to COVID restrictions, until 2023, with a follow-up planned for 2025.
