The Jinchang Cohort is the largest polymetallic exposure cohort in the world. The cohort includes all workers at the Jinchuan Nonferrous Metals Corporation (JNMC) who have completed a full medical examination since 2011. At baseline, the cohort included over 48,000 participants at baseline, most of whom were men, Han Chinese, married and working in smelting or refining metals. By the end of 2019, the cohort completed three follow-ups, involving 46,713 (2014-2015), 41,888 (2016-2017), and 40,530 (2018-2019) participants, respectively.
