Sample details

CHSCY investigates factors that impact the physical and mental health of children and young people in Canada. In 2019, the study recruited a representative sample of over 92,000 children and youth aged 1 to 17 years as of 31st January 2019 from the ten provinces and the three territories of Canada. Of these, over 41,000 participants were included in the longitudinal sample and followed up four years later in 2023. Whilst the longitudinal component of CHSCY has concluded, the study continues as a cross-sectional study.
