The study aimed to understand which weather conditions most affected pain. Participants were over 10,000 residents of the United Kingdom aged 17 years and older. Participants downloaded the study app and completed baseline questionnaires in 2016 and 2017, and were then invited to collect daily pain symptoms for six months, or longer if willing. The GPS location of participants' phones would then link to weather data. Data collection ended in April 2017, and the follow-up time ranged from 90 to 456 days.
