The CMEC is a community population-based study investigating non-communicable disease prevalence, risk factors, and associated conditions in resource-constrained settings among ethnic minorities. The sample was selected to highlight the various ethnic groups present in southwest China. Nearly 100,000 participants aged from 30 to 79 years (Tibetan populations include those aged 18 to 30 years) from the Tibetan, Yi, Miao, Bai, Bouyei, Dong, and Han ethnic groups were recruited between May 2018 and September 2019.
