The Corogene study aims to investigate the genetic factors influencing coronary artery disease (CAD) and related heart conditions by examining patients undergoing coronary angiograms. The study began in 2006 with the recruitment of over 5,000 participants from Helsinki, the capital of Finland. Participants were assessed during their coronary angiograms and followed up through linkage to mortality and health care records to monitor long-term health outcomes.
