Sample details

The CovSocial Project follows a cohort of individuals residing in Berlin, Germany throughout the Covid-19 pandemic. The project includes two phases: the Longitudinal Study (Phase 1) for which participants completed questionnaires retrospectively and prospectively, and the Intervention Study (Phase 2) for which a sub-sample of participants took part in app-delivered interventions. Phase 1 assessments took place at seven timepoints: T1 (before lockdown in January 2020), T2 (during the first lockdown from mid-March to mid-April 2020), T3 (in June 2020 when restrictions were eased), T4 (November 2020), T5 (December 2020), T6 (January 2021), and T7 (mid-March to mid-April 2021).

Representative sample at baseline?
The Berlin population in terms of average age (43 years); and comparable in terms of married or registered partnerships cohabiting (37% in the sample and 34% in the Berlin population) and lifetime prevalence of psychiatric disorders (25% in the sample and 28% in the Berlin population).
