Sample details

The Cancer Prevention Studies (CPS) aim to understand why and how certain people develop cancer while others remain cancer free. Between 2006 and 2013, the CPS-3 cohort was recruited and includes approximately 300,000 men and women, aged 30 to 65 years, from 35 states of the United States of America and Puerto Rico. Participants were assessed at recruitment and complete triennial follow-up surveys, as well as sub-study assessments. Participants are also followed through linkage with cancer registries and the National Death Index. The study plans to follow participants for at least 20 years.
