CRELES-RC is a survey of the health and life-course experiences of ageing Costa Ricans. The study recruited a nationally representative sample of elderly Costa Ricans who were between 55 and 65 years old at baseline. Participants were from all over Costa Rica, including rural areas and more urban areas such as the Capital, San Jose. At baseline, the sample consisted of over 2,700 participants of socioeconomic and educational backgrounds.
