Cross River Health and Demographic Surveillance Site (CRHDSS)

CRHDSS collects data on all households in two urban and rural demographic surveillance areas (DSAs) in southern Cross River state in southern Nigeria. The urban DSA is located in Calabar Municipality, the capital of Cross River and the rural DSA is located in the Edet Nsa, Eneyo South, Ikot Eyo, and Ikot Nakanda wards of the Akpabuyo Local Government Area. Eligible participants are residents in households within the urban or rural DSA, regardless of age. In 2017, CRHDSS included over 33,000 participants in 8,508 households. As of 2018, the study includes over 37,000 participants in 9,452 households.
