The CUPID study uses a standardised questionnaire covering musculoskeletal symptoms, disability, and potential risk factors, to collect information on 47 occupational groups in 18 countries from six continents. There were three main categories of occupation: nurses, office workers, and “other workers”, the last including the sales and marketing group as well as various manual occupations. The analysis was based on close to 12,500 participants. Data collection consisted of an initial baseline questionnaire, followed by a further, shorter questionnaire after an interval of 12 months.
