DALSC was initiated to provide basic representative information about a birth cohort from 1995, designed by researchers from the Danish National Centre for Social Research. DALSC is a collective name for three samples of children, who were born in 1995 and living in Denmark at the time of the survey. The samples are also referred to as ‘‘The Danish Survey’’ (,6011 children), ‘‘The Ethnic Survey’’ (611 children), and ‘‘Children in Care (CiC)" (576 children). Surveys have taken place in 1996 (soon after birth), 1999 (age 3), 2003 (age 7), 2007 (age 11), and 2011 (age 15).
