The DanDem database began in 2014, and the purpose is to improve the quality of the clinical assessment and treatment of patients referred for elective dementia assessment. The patients included in DanDem are residents of Denmark who are referred for an elective dementia assessment, within a dementia assessment unit or memory clinic. There are approximately 10,000 patients registered annually, with almost 7,500 in 2023.
