The Danish Forensic Psychiatric Database follows individuals who have committed a crime and are receiving psychiatric treatment in forensic psychiatric units and general psychiatric units in Denmark. The population is diverse in their legal status and could be sentenced according to one of three sections (Section 16, Section 69, or Section 73 of the Criminal Code in Denmark). They are also heterogeneous in terms of psychiatric diagnosis but limited to patients who are registered in the Danish Forensic Psychiatry Database.
