The DNBC is a population-based pregnancy cohort, following both mothers and infants, to investigate the causal link between exposures in early life and disease later on. Nearly 100,000 women, equivalent to approximately 30% of all births in Denmark, participated in the first of four scheduled interviews during the first or second trimester of pregnancy. The cohort has expanded its initial data collection with several subsequent sweeps of data collection.
