The DBSOS aims to understand the development and risk of mental health conditions in children based on their parents' psychiatric history and to identify factors of risk and resilience. The study began in 2010, including over 200 participants in the Netherlands. Participants included offspring of parents with schizophrenia, offspring of parents with bipolar disorder, and control offspring. Follow-up assessments were conducted between 2014 and 2019, with 184 participants involved.
